Privacy Statement

ItsyGitsy is a local-first Git client. The app is designed so normal repository work happens on your device through your installed Git tooling. This statement explains what the website and app collect, what they do not collect, and how optional feedback works.

What The Website Collects

When you download ItsyGitsy from the public website, the download endpoint records an anonymous download event. The event includes the release version, platform, architecture, country, event name, timestamp, coarse bot/client classification, and the fixed install identifier value website. This is used to understand which public builds are being downloaded and to separate likely crawler traffic from human downloads.

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and the download/update endpoint runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process standard request data such as IP address, user agent, URL, and request time as part of hosting, security, logging, and abuse prevention.

What The App Collects

If anonymous analytics are enabled, ItsyGitsy may send lifecycle and update events such as first start, app start, update check, and update installed. These events include an anonymous install id, app version, platform, architecture, country, event name, and timestamp. They do not include repository content.

Anonymous app analytics can be turned off in the app settings. When analytics are turned off, lifecycle telemetry is not sent.

Feedback Reports

Feedback reports are sent only when you submit them from inside the app. A feedback report may include the message you write, optional contact detail, optional screenshot, anonymous install id, app version, platform, architecture, country, repository state, request user agent, and submission timestamp. Feedback is used to investigate bugs and improve the app.

What Is Not Collected Automatically

• Repository names, file paths, remotes, branch names, tag names, commit messages, diffs, file contents, or uncommitted changes.
• Git credentials, SSH keys, HTTPS tokens, proxy credentials, commit-signing keys, or passwords.
• Payment details. Support links, if used, are handled by the external payment/support provider.

Local Git Boundary

ItsyGitsy delegates Git operations to your local Git installation and inherited environment. Credentials, hooks, SSH configuration, HTTPS credential helpers, proxy settings, and commit-signing behavior remain owned by your local Git setup.

Data Storage And Sharing

Anonymous telemetry is stored in Cloudflare Analytics Engine. Feedback reports and optional screenshots are stored in the release/feedback infrastructure and may be emailed to the maintainer for review. Data is not sold.
